Browsing history permissions

I get a lot of questions lately why does FGS needs to access your browsing history (even though it was required from the start). Here's why:

Every extension that is uploaded to google chrome gallery needs to provide manifest.json file that states what APIs in Chrome can this extension use. One of them is "tabs". This API provides me with the ability to open new windows (like giftlist.html in FGS). Unfortunately this API shows this permissions dialog.
